Salt Pig

This earthenware Salt Pig is handmade in England. Many seasoned cooks and chefs store their salt in this way, and Salt Pigs were indeed a familiar sight in most kitchens in the 1960's and 70's.  The absorbent earthenware body draws moisture away from the salt.
